Programs don't launch from within the VSCode REPL

When launching certain scripts in the REPL launched by the VSCode extension, they don't work properly, as in e.g. #215.

Just don't use the VSCode REPL. Launch a normal terminal, and start Julia from that terminal by typing "julia --project".

I know, but it would be nice to use the VSCode REPL, I made this issue as a reminder to try and find out why this happens, but my own investigations lead nowhere so far.
