Environment
Description
Some album titles from TIDAL contain Unicode hyphen ("‐" in this case, U+2010) instead of the standard ASCII hyphen ("-", U+002D), which causes Last.fm to treat it as a different string and results in scrobbling an existing duplicate album entry instead of the normal one that has actual artwork and listeners. This issue does not occur with TIDAL's built-in Last.fm scrobbler, only with the LastFM plugin.
Steps to Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Enable the LastFM plugin and connect your account.
- Play any song on Tom Rosenthal's "Z-Sides" album. (listed this specifically since this is the album I had the issue with)
- Go to your Last.fm profile and you will see that it scrobbled the duplicate album with the Unicode hyphen instead, which has no artwork and barely any listeners instead of the main album.
Expected Behavior
Scrobbles from TIDAL should attach to the correct album on Last.fm, using the main existing entry with artwork and accurate listener/scrobbler stats.
Actual Behavior
Scrobbles are sent to an existing duplicate album on Last.fm that uses a Unicode hyphen instead of a normal ASCII hyphen. The duplicate often has missing artwork and very few listeners/scrobblers, even though it’s the same release.
