Many thanks Stefan for moving the repo.
I parked the previous efforts under tag v1.2 and created the protected branch "numpy_based_core" .
In the next days I will start to clean up/remove code from the master branch and then put stuff back in.
Communication: I would prefer to have communication here through the issue board, this keeps everything in one place. Let me know if you prefer another channel (slack, email list, teams).
