Submission has remained in state "Not approved"

Describe the bug
I finally was able to submit my submission using a Safari browser instead of the Chrome browser which errored. I submitted it in Nov - its now a month later. So the bug is either a coding issue making the review required invisible or a process error in that the person who approves it is not aware of it or over worked.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Go to '...' enter a submission on a Safari browser
2. Click on : submit (no errors). - status says "not approved"
3. Status never changes.

Expected behavior
I expect status to change to approve within a month

The submission now says "Not yet approved". They did contact me and said our project is not Citizen Science with no reasons given, which in itself is disappointing. I need to find the time to reply because it is.... I'v had so many issues with the site that I am finding it difficult to get the energy to reply because we are very much an important citizen science project with thousands of participants who are very enthusiastic about the study we're doing with them
