[Question] How to change the timezone and datetime format

Hey there,

I've search the documentation and have been unable to figure if it's possible to change the timezone of all the timestamps in the ITB? I would like to change it to a danish timezone and danish datetime format everywhere, reports, session dashboard, conformance statements, etc.

Currently all timestamps are based on the time used by the host running the ITB. In most server installations this means that the time used is UTC. If you adapt the host server time to use the Danish timezone you will get what you want. We have experimented in the past with other approaches (e.g. using always UTC regardless of host time and presenting different times depending on users' locales, or using and presenting UTC), but found that this was creating more confusion than benefit (people don't always understand or communicate timezones when referring to dates).

Regarding the datetime format used, this is not possible to adapt currently... But I can definitely see this as being something to be configured by the system administrator. But if we do something along these lines (please confirm if you think this is what is needed) then I'd see this being available in a subsequent release (not the one that we're in the process of closing up). What do you think?

Ahhh okay, in that case I shall contact the server administrator to adapt the host server time.

A configureable property by the system administrator would indeed be nice! It is however not that important so it can indeed wait to for a subsequent release ^_^

I take it that you are referring to the datetime format(s). Sounds good to me, and yes lets keep this ticket open until it's implemented.
