We as members, contributors, and leaders pledge to make participation in our community a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, visible or invisible disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, caste, color, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.
We pledge to act and interact in ways that contribute to an open, welcoming, diverse, inclusive, and healthy community.
We are committed to fostering an environment that respects and promotes the dignity, rights, and contributions of all individuals. The same privileges of participation are extended to everyone who participates in good faith and in accordance with this Code of Conduct.
While acknowledging differences in social norms, we all strive to meet our community's expectations for positive behavior. We also understand that our words and actions may be interpreted differently than we intend based on culture, background, or native language.
With these considerations in mind, we agree to behave mindfully toward each other and act in ways that center our shared values, including:
- Demonstrating empathy and kindness toward others.
- Being respectful of differing opinions, viewpoints, and experiences.
- Gracefully giving and accepting constructive feedback.
- Accepting responsibility and apologizing to those affected by our mistakes, and learning from the experience.
- Supporting others in help channels.
- Using inclusive language and pronouns.
- Reporting incidents to the Hackerman Leads in a timely manner.
- Committing to repairing harm when it occurs.
We agree to restrict the following behaviors in our community. Instances, threats, and promotion of these behaviors are violations of this Code of Conduct:
- Harassment. Violating clearly expressed boundaries or engaging in unnecessary personal attention after any request to stop.
- Character Attacks. Making insulting, demeaning, or pejorative comments directed at a community member or group.
- Sexualization. The use of sexualized language or imagery, and sexual attention or advances of any kind.
- Trolling and Offensive Language. Insults, derogatory comments, personal or political attacks, or stereotyping based on immutable traits.
- Violating Confidentiality. Sharing someone’s personal or private information without their permission.
- Endangerment. Threatening violence or harm towards any person or group.
- Other inappropriate conduct. Actions that could reasonably be considered harmful, unprofessional, or inappropriate in a professional setting.
- Misleading Identity. Impersonating someone else or pretending to be someone else to evade enforcement actions.
- Failing to Credit Sources. Not properly crediting the sources of content contributed.
- Promotional Spam or Commercial Materials. Sharing unsolicited marketing content that falls outside community norms.
This Code of Conduct applies within all community spaces, and also applies when an individual is officially representing the community in public spaces. Examples include using an official e-mail address, posting via an official social media account, or acting as an appointed representative at an online or offline event.
It also applies to all interactions, whether in person or remote, in private or public areas.
If for any reason, you feel unsafe, unwelcome, or uncomfortable as a result of an interaction within Hackerabad, report the incident and get support via one of these channels:

- Approach any Hackerabad team member directly at in-person events.
Community Moderators take all reports seriously and will follow up in a timely and confidential manner.
Community leaders are responsible for clarifying and enforcing acceptable behavior. They will investigate all reports, review logs and evidence, and make judgments with transparency where appropriate while maintaining confidentiality.
They reserve the right to remove or restrict access for any behavior that is deemed inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful.
Community leaders will follow these guidelines to determine the consequences of any action violating our Code of Conduct:
Impact: Minor violations within the community, such as unprofessional or unwelcome comments.
Consequence: A private written warning clarifying the nature of the violation and why it’s inappropriate. A public apology may be requested.
Impact: Repeated offenses or moderate violations.
Consequence: Temporary exclusion from certain activities, community spaces, or communication channels. Violating these limitations may escalate consequences.
Impact: Serious violations or repeated infringement of prior warnings.
Consequence: A temporary suspension from all community interactions and spaces. Rules for returning must be respected during the suspension period.
Impact: Continuous and egregious violations that compromise the safety and well-being of others.
Consequence: Permanent exclusion from all community spaces, tools, and communication channels.
