Greetings!
I would like to suggest some ideas how alignment rulers could look.
When we have possible alignments when moving, all lines are blue and could cause possible visual noise when there are offset lines, horizontal and vertical alignment.
A possible way to reduce noise is to make all horizontal alignment ruler lines red and all vertical lines green. Something similar can be seen in Affinity Photo.
Affinity also shows center alignment differently, as infinite lines instead of a line from the center, which I think can be lost in visuals.
Another difference is that Graphite does not show distance between two objects.
I am not suggesting that it should be copied, but I find it more aesthetically pleasing and visually distinct.
