Mouse clicks broken during trip replaying

When trip replay is in progress (as indicated by pause icon)...

clicking on any button/menu dropdown stops working. It gets interrupted or something. For example, the following break: sidebar, car selector, even the button to unpause trip replay (must use space), or playback speed dropdown. big bad bug
