ctaff

An automated beat mapper and rhythm game map generator written in pure C.

Setup

Run make in src/ subfolder.

Usage

Run bin/ctaff -i "<INPUT FILEPATH>" -o "<OUTPUT FILEPATH>".

Dependencies

  • KISS FFT
    • Required files are included in lib/kissfft

Requirements

  • FFmpeg
    • Command-line tools required

Output

Output is a binary file of beats detected. There are no headers and each beat is 5 bytes: the first byte is an ASCII character representing the layer in which the beat was detected. The next 4 bytes are a little-endian float representing the time, in seconds, of the detection.

Layers A and B are bass beats. A is for frequencies peaking around 0-100 Hz, while B is for beats peaking around 100-200 Hz.

Layers C, D, and E are midrange beats. C is for frequencies peaking around 200-350 Hz, D is for frequencies peaking around 350-650 Hz, and E is for frequencies peaking around 650-2000 Hz.

Layer F is for high-frequency beats peaking around 2800-4400 Hz.
