Description
Introduce stronger colour usage across website pages
Description
Following feedback from ZJ, we should explore ways to introduce more visual depth and energy across the website while staying consistent with our brand system.
Today, most pages rely heavily on white backgrounds with limited colour variation, which can make the experience feel flat and less engaging compared to other modern SaaS/industrial websites.
Goal
Improve the overall visual appeal of the website by:
- Introducing more intentional colour usage (background sections, accents, contrast blocks)
- Creating better visual rhythm throughout pages
- Making pages feel more dynamic and engaging without compromising clarity or readability
Approach
- Use colour strategically (not decoratively) to support hierarchy and content separation
- Keep consistency with existing brand tokens and design system
- Avoid overusing coloured sections (focus on key moments like hero, transitions, CTAs)
Related PRs
- Litmus landing: Update copy and styles #4667
- Create HM26 event page #4690
- Homepage: Improve visual contrast and reduce “flat” appearance #4781
These introduce stronger colour moments and background variation while staying within our current system.
Next steps
- Define patterns/guidelines for colour usage across pages
- Roll out consistently across key website pages
