Is it possible to read newly added meta data properties through code?

I love how seamlessly this package works, but I've been struggling to actually read the newly added properties' data in code or command prompt. I might be misunderstanding how this package works. Is there any way to actually read properties (such as tags) through command prompt or code? I've tried node-exif and exiftools and have had no success
