Can not deselect existing property

Once an existing property in the bottom left box is selected, it can not be deselected.

This is true, but why is it a problem?

This relates to other issues with what is displayed in the bottom right box, and the way the 5 buttons function. At many times, I found myself clicking in a white space to deselect a property in order to use the buttons or to clear the bottom right box. In general, I think this is an expected behavior whenever you have a tree and white space around it: anything you select can be deselected by clicking in a white space. But that's just a preference, I guess.
