For now we'll use the RPi serial for the unique hardware ID, but may be nice to have a hardware ID on the Main board instead. Benefits include:
- ID not changing if the RPi is swapped out
- ID allocated a time of manufacture and could be pre-provisioned in cloud platforms
- ESDK could more easily be used with other platforms that have an RPi compatible header
