Describe the issue
Hello,
I am currently trying to install SolidWorks 2021 by following an installation tutorial video on my laptop running Windows 11. When I start the installation using the setup.exe file, the download begins normally. During the process, several components are installed successfully, including Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables (2010, 2012, 2013, and 2017) and Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Applications 2015.
However, immediately after these installations, the following error message appears:
“Internal Error: The Windows Installer for this product component did not run as expected: INSTALL.”
While searching online for possible solutions, I found this tutorial explaining how to fix the issue:
https://cadvision-systems.com/blog/install/fix-internal-error-installation/
I carefully followed all the steps described in the guide and tried running the installation again, but the same error message still appears at exactly the same stage.
There is, however, one step in the tutorial that I was unable to follow. In Step 7, it instructs users to go to Control Panel > Programs and Features and uninstall all versions of Microsoft .NET Framework, starting with the most recent one. On my system, I cannot find any installed versions of Microsoft .NET Framework that can be uninstalled. I am not sure whether this is normal or if it could be related to the issue.
Does anyone know how I could fix this problem so that I can finish installing SolidWorks 2021 on my computer?
Thank you in advance for your help, and I remain available if any additional information is needed.
