My MacOS : El Cap 10.11.6

So, I can run q -- the ondemand version of q 64bit,
I can also q32 -- which is the 32bit version of q.
q 64bit was not installed via jupyter channel, It was installed manually.

It looks like the issue is that in our recently updated TorQ start script, we use envsubst which isn't available by default on Mac OS (I think we tested on Linux)

You should hopefully be able to start TorQ using start_torq_demo_osx.sh.

The alternative option would be to install the gettext package from Homebrew which provides the envsubst command. If you don't already have homebrew set up on your mac though, it is likely easier to use the osx start script; you'll just miss out on some of the nice new features we added with torq.sh. For just starting all processes, there should be no difference though

EDIT: Just noticed you did try the osx start script; can you give more detail of the issue encountered here? Where there errors in log files?
