Howto implement new pcap2.sh in ntopnp

Wondering about how to implement the pcap file from your new pcap2.sh script.
In my enviroment it outputs an fifo.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX file, whitch always changes the name. So it's not useable via filesystem.
Also the scripts crashes if I want to integrat the dynamic pcap file.

Is there any trick to get the pcap file implemented in ntopng?

This is what I am also struggling with. Neither ntop nor wireshark integrations seem to work based on the script one finds on the internet.

I believe the renaming occurs because the stream Aborts and the script crashes and then restarts with the container

Issue is the output is created with:

FIFO=$(mktemp -u -t ${0##*/}.fifo.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX)
mkfifo $FIFO

so a random file is created every time. You can make this static in the script.

But I am not sure if this resolves the underlying Problem of the Data stream aborting…

Ok, the python script didn't work as well as I hoped. I put some time in it (and some help ;-) and I created the following solution:

This is cool. I try to test it over the Weekend.
How about adding a Github Action to create a Docker Image on dockerhub? Then Users do not need to Build it themselves and can Import the Docker-Compose into portainer etc like I do 🙃
