EGP Does not work

Adding URL is inconsistent, after several attempts I can add a URL but then nothing happens.
I thought I have seen an option to add a local file but hat option is now gone.

Unfortunately, it is not at all clear from your request what and how you are doing and, most importantly, the goal. From your question, I can only assume that you are trying to configure the display of EPG from an XMLTV source and apparently for the list of IPTV channels. If I'm wrong, please describe your problem step by step, preferably with screenshots and the EPG source and channel list (bouquet) where the program isn't showing. It also needs a log screenshot .

1. First of all, I recommend reading this discussion.
2. This may also be useful until the moment of export (experimental yet).
3. I recommend enabling this option in the extra settings and re-importing your m3u file, if you have one.

4. After adding the link to the EPG source, select it, click Apply,

and preferably restart the program. You should see the download and processing of your file from the specified source in the program's status bar and logs.

5. And finally, the most important thing. Your EPG source and playlist must be consistent. This means the channel ID -> names must match those in the source's XML file. The additional option described above serves to improve the comparison. But it won't work for all playlists and sources.

P.S. The EPG display function has not been changed for quite a while and everything works as it always did, including on Linux Mint. It was no reports from users before your request.

EPG3 shows I cannot select anything by "update:" It only shows "daily"

EPG4 shows Apply

EPG5 shows what happens ( nothing at all )

If I must do something, just let me know what exactly.

UPD. Using another source I can see EPG for some channels from your bouquet list:

To display the EPG in the favorites list, enable the corresponding option: View -> Display EPG in bouquet list. The source setup options menu button will appear above the favorites list.

P.S. You can also use your receiver as a source, provided that it displays a program from the satellite.

I don't know what changed here but now I found an additional "button" with an option show full EPG cashe, which gave me this picture. Still no EPG info.

My xml.gz source looks good to me

Unpacking that gives me netherlands.xml and when I click that in Linux Mint I can read sender info with EPG.
So I don't understand what is going wrong, if some one has a source that works, please let me know

I found an additional "button" with an option show full EPG cashe

It's not a miracle, you just installed this extension that appeared quite recently.

As I wrote above, your problem is the inconsistency between your channel list and the EPG source (Channel names -> channel IDs).
I'll experiment with your source and channel list, e.g with a bouquet of German channels.You can also experiment.
Just load the entire cache as shown in our screenshot and rename the channels you need:

Scroll through your favorites list a little and if everything is OK (your source has events for the current time), you will see the result:

But when faced with your case, and also due to the periodic occurrence of such a question, I decided to make another extension that allows you to mapping the name from the favorite list and the source cache and place them in the additional cache of the program itself.

Simply drag and drop the desired channel onto the channel in the list on the left:

The mapping will be stored in the internal cache and renaming the channel will not be required!

While this extension is in development, it will not appear in the extension manager. Install it manually as described here. In short, download and copy the folder to one of the paths specified in the README.

P.S. I tested your EPG source and channel list with the Netherlands channels also. It seems that many of the channels have timeshift issues (or DemonEditor detects it wrong), so the program may not display. However, it may be different on your computer. It needs to test and figure out the issue with your specific source.

I try to give feedback in a logical manner and order ( hope so ).
First, the button "clear EPG name casche" does not work.

Cannot delete the source either.

I can add one however the log shows it is downloaded but I don't see any EPG.
I cannot drag anything to the channel list.

I did copy the extension " init.py" to : file:///home/ed/DemonEditor/tools/extensions
Not sure if that is right.

After some fiddling around, at one time I had EPG but not sure if that was downloaded from my Sat Receiver or from the source URL.

One thing I tried was : File > Extract > epg
and here I found this file

This item is for deleting the program internal cache, not the list on the left for XMLTV source. Perhaps it should be renamed or moved into a separate tool, as it's causing confusion. This is still an experimental feature and isn't directly relevant to your case.

Yes, there is a bug here. I already fixed it before. In the "View" menu, enable the "Display EPG in the bouquet list" option. This will enable the settings button and menu for the EPG on the favorites list. See my screenshots above. Deleting should work here. It also allows you to display the current program in the bouquet list. Also, take a look at my screenshots.

Just create a folder like for other extensions (you can see it on your screenshot) with the name "xmltvtonamecache" and place/copy the file there.

This is simply a local, compressed copy of the file downloaded from your EPG source. You don't need to touch it.

Sorry I cannot delete the sources here either.
Well I can delete some but not the last one, I added a fake one called hup, after that I could delete one but now I cannot delete "hup"

Yes, that's how it should be. After activating this setting, at least one element should remain. If you want to remove it, simply add another one.

Did you restart the app after that? In the logs you should see something like this:

Look carefully on my screenshots. You have not loaded full cache as on your own screenshots e.g. There aren't any channels in the list on the left. Load the full cache as you did before and drag the desired channel from the Favorites list to the desired channel in the list on the left.

If I choose show full EPG cache I see a list which is from my receiver, not from the URL.
Don't know how to remove that. Dragging isn't possible here either

After selecting bouquet, the data is naturally updated. Select a bouquet -> load cache. Check your EPG source: Receiver or XML TV.

P.S. Yes, I strongly recommend that you familiarize yourself with the program interface and experiment by pressing buttons yourself.
