Hi,
currently discovered SNMP printer devices seem to use SNMP metadata
(e.g. sysName / sysLocation) as the Home Assistant device name.
I would like to request an optional setting to use the DNS name
(reverse DNS) instead.
Proposed options:
- current SNMP-based naming (default)
- DNS short hostname
- DNS FQDN
If reverse DNS lookup fails, the integration should fall back to the
current SNMP-based behavior.
This would provide more consistent and unique device names,
especially in managed or enterprise networks.
Thanks!
