Document Conditions and Metadata display

I cannot find any documentation on Conditions, so I do not know if I am doing thing incorrectly or not.

I also cannot figure out how the metadata gets place on the default metadata templates. I thought there would be a dynamic value for this

Here is what I am trying to do. Song Select CCLI recommends that the CCLI license and stream license be displayed with songs. At first I was adding his text as a field to each songs metadata, but that gets old real fast. Then I found the global variables and created one with the license text. I created a new metadata template and then used the dynamic values to add the metadata fields that I want to the template followed by the global variable with the license text.

This looks good over songs but it is also displaying the field separators and the license text over every other image as well where metadata should be displayed.

So, I found conditions and tried a number of conditions to see if I could get this to work. I tried setting a condition that if the CCLI number field is empty by leaving the text box empty, nope. I tried the work empty, nope. I tried a set of double quotes, still nope. I tried a number of other conditions and never could I get it to not display. So, I get the feeling I am doing something wrong, but do not know it because there is no documentation other than Conditions.svelte from which I have not glean much more than I did from the Conditions popup in FreeShow.

I don't see a condition for if a show is in a specific category to show the textbox as that would be ideal in this situation, but maybe I have not tried enough combinations to get it to work.

Conditions are very new so have not added documentation for that yet. I'll consider a better way of dealing with this.

@vassbo Okay, but it is not clear if you are considering a better way of dealing with the conditions themselves or the documentation thereof.

I am willing to write documentation. I just need to have an idea what I am working with. So far I have not been able to get any of my conditions to actually not show content. Not sure if there is anything else other than the file above that I mentioned.

I was thinking about the metadata, but in my testing the conditions work as they should for normal slides or overlays, I think it's just the metadata that does not work. You seem to be doing it correctly.

I had a thought that the Display metadata setting under Styles could be over riding the conditions instead of being together. In other words, I think currently the Display metadata setting are used and the conditions are being ignored.

I need to test this theory. Maybe there are Display metadata settings where the conditions would not be ignored.

Good thought, but I realized that conditions are not implemented at all for metadata actually.

Just saw your comment on Freeshow #1837.

I see the documentation has the following tip about metadata:

To get a custom layout on the metadata, edit your metadata template with custom text and add the metadata values with dynamic values (can be added with right click).

This works but only if you only put metadata dynamic values. If you put anything else like separators between the meta data fields these will show on the slides set for displaying metadata in the setting even if the show is not a song.

It seems to me that there should be a way to say what category (or categories) of show the metadata should show on or make it possible to set how the metadata displays for each category.
