Removing a favourite doesn't work unless there is an existing conversation

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Start a new conversation
2. Add a favourite from a message
3. Start a new conversation
4. Attempt to delete a favourite with trash button with no messages in the current conversation chain

Expected behavior
Favourite should be deleted regardless of current conversation content or lack of content

This appears to be related to a known state synchronization bug tracked in #2836. The issue is that backend socket handlers completely replace the entire messages array rather than patching it, which causes problems when there's no existing conversation context to work with.

There's an open fix in PR #2837 that addresses this by updating only the favorite metadata flag rather than replacing the entire message state. This fix hasn't been merged yet, so the bug still exists in v2.10.0.

For now, the workaround is to remove favourites from within a conversation that has existing messages, rather than from an empty/new conversation.
