Use Case Title
Add elements for Credential Definition Grade Level Start Date and End Date
Use Case Description
-
Credential Definition Grade Level Start Date:
The date (YYYY-MM-DD) on which a Credential Definition was first associated with this grade or grade range.
-
Credential Definition Grade Level End Date:
The date (YYYY-MM-DD) on which a Credential Definition stopped being associated with this grade or grade range.
Use Case Background
Michigan stores data about the dates that a particular grade band (range) first was associated with a specific endorsement and then when that association ended.
CEDS has a bridge table that can act as a crosswalk between an endorsement and all the possible grade levels that it can teach. However, that bridge table does not have any elements that can be used to define the start and end dates of when an endorsement was associated with a specific grade range. Given that the grade bands associated with an endorsement can change over time, this is something that Michigan will need.
