Provision-EflowVM fails with error "- Failed to provision at line 2416"

Describe the bug
Using the IoT Edge 1.5.7.01026 release fails when running Provision-EfowVM with error - Failed to provision at line 2416

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Run Provision-EflowVM

Expected behavior
Provision-EflowVM should run without errors.

• Virtual Machine: None

This issue started with this release. Using 1.5.3.12025 does not have this issue.

Can you check if your machine has network setup correctly configured, can you try running arp -a from host and from the eflow vm and post the output here also can you run the get-eflowvmaddr from host and post the output also try pinging the windows host ip from eflow vm and see if the ping succeeds

you should be able to see this output when you connect to vm. if not it is most likely defender firewall blocking ICMP traffic

can you also try any other provisioning like manualConnectionString see if it is working and retry tpm provisioning

Run sudo /usr/bin/tpm_device_provision inside the VM shell. If this returns your Registration ID and EK Hash immediately, the tpm provisioning should work, , thanks!

As far as pinging the windows host ip from the vm, which ip address should I use for that?

I tried your suggestion of provisioning first with a different method and then retrying provisioning with tpm and it worked. I would still like to be able to provision with tpm from a fresh deployment though.

can you try running these commands Im sharing now and retry tpm provisioning and see what happens

connect-eflowvm (from powershell module)
sudo usermod -aG tss aziottpm (run inside the vm)
stop-eflowvm (from powershell module)
start-eflowvm (from powershell module)

now retry tpm provsiioning
