We should consider lifting a generic API from the LogbackSteno implementation that can be mapped like SLF4J to different logging providers including LogbackSteno, Logback, Log4J, etc.. This would allow third parties to adopt our libraries (e.g. commons, performance-test, etc.) without being locked into the LogbackSteno implementation.
