Discuss assigning a DOI for citation

Based on the requests by users, I would like to open a discussion here about assigning a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) for the ScreenPro2 repository so it can be properly cited in academic publications and research articles.

Assigning a DOI will help users give credit to the software and improve traceability in scholarly works. Open to suggestions on suitable DOI services (e.g., Zenodo, Figshare) and examples from related projects.

@nick-youngblut What do you think? Original plan with Luke has been starting this with an incoming paper where we introduce the tool. However, in the meantime users are getting ahead to publish their work and not having a DOI would cause missing the citations. Maybe we can make a DOI through zenodo? I don't think I have access anymore to do this. Can you help with that? Thank you so much :)
