Buffer overflow detected causes termination

This started happening to VISlam ROS node a week ago. VISlam worked prior, but one moment it stopped and hasn't worked since:

The apps <--> dsp offset = 682991063 Apps ClockType[CLOCK_REALTIME]
*** buffer overflow detected ***: /home/linaro/ros_ws/devel/lib/snap_ros_examples/snap_vislam_node terminated

I'm also getting this same problem. I had it working and didn't change anything, and then suddenly this started to happen. Any solutions to this?

I used the solution presented here: basically compile it in debug mode:
catkin_make -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Debug
